Knitwear Design Intern

We are looking for a creative student intern to support and gain experience in the Knitwear Design department at Galvan London. Based in our design studio in West London, you would support the Head of Knitwear on designing and developing the collections, from initial research ideas, through to the delivery of the collections in showroom and at presentations. 

Key duties would include:

• Imagery, vintage, textile and yarn research.
• Swatches and developing knitted textiles, hand knit and hand crochet.
• Draping, pattern cutting and stand work.
• Creating and updating design and development boards. 
• Organising and maintaining our knitwear archive and seasonal shade cards. 
• Supporting the Creative Director, Knitwear Product Development, and Knitwear Production teams at key moments of the collection. 
• Preparing for and assisting in fittings. 
• Keeping the studio tidy and organised. 
• The role is full time 5 days a week, 10am – 6pm in our design studio. Minimum 6 months, maximum 12 months. You will need to be currently studying to be eligible to apply.
• £15 a day paid to cover expenses. 
• We are looking for someone to start asap.
