Job Details
Dion Lee is a designer brand, based in New York City. The Dion Lee aesthetic is technical with an intelligent sensuality. Each collection marries innovative construction, with a consciousness of the form. Textiles are engineered to form sculptural embellishments.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Knitwear Intern to join the New York studio. Working closely with the Knitwear Design team, this internship will offer a hands-on and intimate experience of the design and development process across fully fashion knits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the conceptualization process, including research on shapes, materials, trims, and colors for the upcoming season.
- Aid in the sourcing, development, and organization of yarns and trims.
- Assist with the preparation of technical packs.
- Support research and development of new techniques.
- Create flat/CAD sketches for design presentations.
- Help prepare for fittings and meetings, ensuring smooth operations.
- Organize and maintain sample and material closets.
- Conduct design and market research as instructed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Foundational understanding of knitwear construction and materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Highly motivated and independent, with excellent time management skills.
- Collaborative mindset, open to guidance, and capable of working effectively under pressure.
- Dedicated to learning and ongoing personal development.
- Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
- Available for at least 2-3 weekdays, contributing approximately 16- 20 hours weekly.
- Commitment throughout the semester is required.
Please note that this is a college-credited internship, and we can only accept students who are currently enrolled in a degree program.
